Abstract:
Objective To explore the medication compliance in elderly hypertension patients,to identify the influencing of factors medication compliance,in order to provide basis for improving medication compliance and rehabilitation of the patients.Methods 82 elderly hypertension outpatients from three third-grade class-A hospitals in Fujian Province were investigated by Morisky medication compliance scale,social support rating scale (SSRS)and self-designed general condition questionnaire.Results The score of medication compliance in elderly hypertension patients was(2.79±1.44),of which 46.3%was identified as fine compliance and 53.7% as poor compliance.Social support scored(29.62±6.21),and scores of three dimensions were:(16.29±3.44) for subjective support,(7.12 ±2.10)for objective support and(6.21±2.67)for support utilization.Medication compliance was positively correlated with social support and support utilization,the correlation coefficients were 0.221,0.220,respectivdy(P<0.05).The main factors affecting the patients'medication compliance were cognition on the related knowledge and education level.Condusions Medical staff should help elderly hypertension patients obtain more social support and provide more health education for them,especially pertinent health education program to improve medication compliance according to patients'education level.
