Abstract:
Objective To explore ways of improving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills of clinical nurses. Methods 116 nurses in our hospital were randomly chosen to take CPR tests. Test scores, eligibility rate and main issues were compared among nurses of different professional titles. Results The general mean score was 88.21 ± 7.68 and eligibility rate was 61.2%. Test scores and eligibility rate of chief nurses were significantly lower than senior and junior nurses (P < 0. 05 ). There was no significant difference between senior and junior nurses (P > 0. 05 ). Main issues appeared to be: inadequate judgment time on breath, pulse and rechecking, as well as asynchronous check of breath and pulse. Conclusions Emergency knowledge and clinical skills should been reinforced in clinical nurses, repeat training and test system should be established and CPR training for chief nurses should be emphasized.
