Abstract:
Objective To understand junior nurses' professional attitudes towards infectious diseases before and after the clinical practice in infectious hospitals. Methods Eight junior nurses'in a certain top firstclass infectious hospital with clinical practice no more than three years were made in-depth interviews with by using a qualitative research method. Results Junior nurses' attitudes towards infectious diseases include five aspects, as follows: anxiety and fear, gradual acceptance, practice without integration with theory, need of help, willingness to be a nurse in infectious hospitals. Conclusions The clinical practice in infectious hospitals contributes to lessen junior nurses' fear towards infectious diseases, increase their knowledge of infectious diseases, change their attitudes towards infectious diseases and be willing to be a nurse in infectious hospitals.
