Abstract:
Objective To investigate and assess the status and related factors of hospitalized patients'perception of patient safety. Methods 540 patients in a secondary hospital were investigated with a selfdeveloped questionnaire. Results The levels of patients' perception of patient safety was high. Related factors included educational background, times of hospitalization, experience of medical errors and health status of the patients. Conclusions Several strategies can be executed to improve patients ' perception of patient safety,including improving patients' knowledge, perception and behaviour of patient safety, enhancing health promotion education on patient safety and encouraging patients to participate in their safety.
