Abstract: Objective To discuss the treatment and prevention on the breakage of PICC(Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter)exposed part through the situation in clinical use. Methods To analyze the causes of the breakage of PICC exposed part from the choice of puncture site,protection methods,indwelling length of PICC in vitro,and injection manner ect,and to propose the corresponding prevention. Results 26 cases could be utilized normally after repaired and the indwelling time of PICC was not influenced. Conclusions To establish the access system of the training and operation of PICC,operation standards and maintenance procedure. Emphasizing the health education of patients was the crux of preventing breakage of PICC and avoiding serious complications.
