Abstract: Objective To explore the effects of therapeutic communication on the quality of life of chronic renal failure (CRF) patients. Methods Eighty CRF patients were randomly divided into two groups: study group and control group. The patients in the study group received therapeutic communication besides routine therapy and nursing while those in the control group only receive routine therapy and nursing. After six months, the differences in the quality of life collected by using SF-36 between two groups were compared. Results The quality of life in the study group were obviously improved ( P < 0. 01 ). Conclusions The therapeutic communication can effectively improve the quality of life of CRF patients.
