Abstract:
Objective To investigate the connotation of nursing competency of nurses nursing patients with craniocerebral tratuna, and to develop the Scale of Competency of Nurses Nursing for Craniocerebral Trauma Patients (SCNNCTP). Methods A self-designed nursing competency scale for nursing persons in nursing patients with craniocerebral trauma was primarily made, through document search and questionaire investigation, and was used to survey and analyze the nursing staff conducting the nursing work to patients with craniocerebral trauma in 18 hospitals located in 9 provinces and cities through this country (n = 586), in order to establish the formal scale format of SCNNCTP. The formal scale format was re-tested (n =232), and the Chinese Nurse Competency Scale (CNCS) was used as associated criterion to determine this scale's external validity. Results SCNNCTP was a 21-item scale, including 6 factors. Single factor analysis showed that all factors loading to its item were 0.633~0.870 (P <0.01), Pearson Correlation were 0. 508 ~ 0. 708, index of internal consistency α = 0. 930, and Splite-Half Coeffcient was 0. 935, indicating that the SCNNCTP had good reliability and validity. Pearson Correlation = 0. 636, supporting the external validity of the SCNNCTP. The significant difference between nursing persons having different academic degree on the score of the SCNNCTP was found ( P < 0. 01 ). Conclusions SCNNCTP was proved to have good psychometric characteristic and have a great power of discrimination of the achievement of nurses nursing patients with craniocerebral trauma.
