Study on mental health level and coping style of the families with chronic diseases patients

Abstract: Objective To investigate the incidience of anxiety or depression in the families of chronic diseases and to discuss the relationship between anxiety or depression and coping style. Methods Using SAS, SDS,SCSQ as main tools,questionnaire investigation was made in 232 families of chronic diseases. Results The incidence of anxiety was 25.9%, and that of depression was 43.1%, and the incidence of concurrence was 25.9%. The mental health level was asscociated with the sex, active response of families, the age, disease course of the patients, hospitalization costs, economic conditions. Conclusions The families of chronic diseases patients have different degrees of negative mood, which affects the patients. Therefore, enchancing the mental intervation of families of chronic diseases will do good to the recovery of diseases and improvement of life quality.
