Abstract:
Objective To evaluate psychological states t among the caregivers of alimentary canal cancer patients and their coping styles. Methods By using SAS, SDS and SCSQ, 60 caregivers of the alimentary canal cancer patients were investigated and analyzed. Results The SAS scores in the observation group were significantly higher than the norm (P < 0. 001). 42 (70%) cases had depression feeling. Their anxiety and depression feeling were significantly negatively related to relation to patients and to ways of medical treatment expense. There were no significance in the scores of coping styles. The active coping styles scores of the caregivers of the alimentary canal cancer patients were significantly higher than the norm (P < 0. 001). Conclusions The caregivers of the alimentary canal cancer patients were mostly associated with the anxiety and depression feeling which were affected by a wide range of psychological factors. They mostly took the active coping styles to relieved their negative mood.
