Abstract:
Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics of senile male patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).Methods 56 ACS inpatients, who hospitalized from April 2006 to April 2008 in the Coronary Care Unit of South Building, and 48 male inpatients with stable angina pectoris (SAP),who hospitalized at the same period in the Department of Cardiovascular Disease, were the objects.Their general data, perticipating factors and characteristics of symptomes were compared and analyzed. Results Compared to the SAP group, the ACS group demonstrated to have markedly more cases with diabetes, more cases with old myocardial infarction, more cases elicitated by non-specific percipitating factors, and more cases presenting untypical angina. The differences had statistical meaning (P<0.05).Conclusions It is important to control multiple risk factors of senile ACS patients.Furthermore,it is vital to recognize the early symptomes of untypical ACS so that we can prevent it from occuring and/or aggravation.ACS patients, especially those with diabetes and old myocardial infarction, should be paid with more attention, educated with the prevention stratigies and receive the early screening examination. We should further expand the depth and breadth of health education about prevention stratigies and provide patients with fine individualized health education.
