Study on the correlation between the cognition level of knowledge about osteoporosis and the health level of life quality

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the residents' cognition level of knowledge about osteoporosis and the health level of the life quality,and then to evaluate the contribution of the cognition of knowledge about osteoporosis to the health level of the life quality.Methods The questionnaires tiffed of"knowledge about osteoporosis"and"SF-36 health survey"were used to survey 997 residents in community of Tianlin and out-patients aged over 30 years old,and then be statistically analyzed.Results There were 28.1%,30.2%, 30.4%and 11.3% subjects whose life qualities were in the grades of poor,fit,good and excellent,respectively. The correlation analysis between knowledge about osteoporosis and life quality showed that the cognition level of knowledge about osteoporosis was the ganrantee factor of the health level of life quality,and was positively correlaled with the health level of life quality (P<0.01).Conclusions The knowledge of osteoporosis should be payed more attention to disseminate,and the health care professionals should develop the strategies and appropriate education programs according to the different needs in different population,thereby improving the residents' cognition level of knowledge about osteoporosis and improving the quality of life.
