Abstract:
Objective To enhance the efficiency of health education, to avoid the risk factors of community patients with pre-diabetes, and to prevent the occurrence of diabetes. Methods Health education and lifestyle intervention were applied in pre-diabetes and high-risk groups at subordinate community hospitals. Results After the intervention, the body mass index, fasting blood glucose, blood glucose 2 h after meals obviously decreased compared to those before the intervention (P <0.01). The diastolic blood pressure, systolic blood pressure and triglyceride also had some decrease (P<0.05). The knowledge rate of diabetes after the intervention had an obvious increase. Conclusions Health education and lifestyle intervention of pre-diabetes are practicable, and delay the development of diabetes. Health education and lifestyle intervention have crucial effects on the procedure of IGT developing to diabetes.
