Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of small hole nasal double approach endoscopic frontal sinus surgery on the treatment of patients with chronic frontal sinusitis.Methods A total of 100 patients with chronic frontal sinusitis (178 sides) were selected and divided into experimental group (n =50,93 sides) treated by small hole nasal double approach endoscopic frontal sinus surgery and control group (n =50,85 sides) treated by the opening surgery for frontal sinus.Postoperative VAS,Lund-Mackay score and frontal sinus diameter,SNOT-20 after six months after surgery were compared between two groups.Results The proportion of patients with VAS score 6 to 10 in the experimental group was 42％,which was significantly lower than 52％ in the control group (P ＜0.05).The Lund-Mackay score of the control group was significantly higher than the study group (P ＜ 0.05).There was no significant difference in frontal sinus atresia rate between two groups (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion small hole nasal double approach endoscopic frontal sinus surgery can reduce postoperative pain and improve the quality of life of patients.
