Abstract:
Objective:To explore the feasibility of assessment of muscle spasm by the measurement date using ultrasound. Methods:Totally 40 patients (20 cases with spasm and 20 cases without flexor elbow muscle spasm) with single side hemiplegia were selected.Their biceps were measured by ultrasound on the tendon, muscle abdominal and the muscle film, and Ashworth value of the muscle tone of biceps was also assessed.Ultrasound data were compared between two groups.Besides, the Spearman correlation was analyzed between the measurement dates used ultrasound and the Ashworth value of the muscle tone of their biceps. Results:Among all the measurement value by ultrasound of the biceps, the affected side muscle spasm group film thickness was relatively unaffected thickened. The ultrasound data ratio of myolemma thickness of affected and unaffected side was significantly higher in spasm group than normal group (P<0.01).The correlation coefficient between musculus biceps brachii sarcolemma and Ashworth value was 0.608, which was moderate correlation (r=0.608, P<0.01).The ultrasound data ratio of biceps myolemma thickness and Ashworth value was highly correlated (r=0.742,P<0.01).Conclusions:The ultrasound date of myolemma thickness was highly correlated with the common measurement, and can be used as an instant, simple and precise measurement method of spasms.
