Abstract: Objecfive To evaluate the role of curved cutter stapler Contour TM in the double stapling technique.Methods Retrospective study was used to compare the experience of the contour in the double stapling technique for 90 patients with low rectal cancer with the experience of the XF for 219 patients between April 2005 to July 2006.Results The rate of colorectal anastomose in contour(57.8％)was better than XF(44.7％)；Complications include anastomotic fistula，anastomotic stenosis and anastomotic bleed，the contour and XF had no difference.Conclusion The contour had not increased the complications， but improved the rate of colorectal anastomose. So，it is a good production to replace the XF in the the double stapling technique.
