Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the effect of selective pump-insertion into the artery during the operation and regional intraarterial chemotherapy postoperatively in the treatment of latter upper gastric cancer. Methods The effect of above treatment on 38 patients suffering from nonresectable latter upper gastric cancer was observed. Results Dysphagia alleviating rate was 100%, abdominal pain mitigating rate 88.5%. Five cases received secondary resection after intraarterial chemotherapy. One-year and two-year survival rates were 71.1% and 21.1% respectively. 3 cases survived more than 3 years. Conclusion Selective pump-insertion into the artery and regional intraarterial chemotherapy is an effective treatment of latter upper gastric cancer, which can prolong the survival period of patients with tumor and increase the resectable rate.
