- Abstract: Ferroptosis is a novel strategy for regulating cell death,and its occurrence is closely related to intracellular iron metabolism,lipid metabolism,amino acid metabolism,and various signa-ling pathways.Ferroptosis plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of acute kidney injury(AKI).Fer-roptosis may serve as an important target for the treatment of AKI caused by various reasons such as ischemia-reperfusion injury,nephrotoxic drugs,rhabdomyolysis syndrome,sepsis,and so on.This paper reviewed the regulatory mechanisms of ferroptosis and its research progress in AKI.
