Abstract:
Objective To discuss the curative effect of AO 2.4mm locking compression plate (LCP) in treatment of distal radius fractures. Methods The data of 22 patients with distal radius fractures accepted AO 2.4mm LCP fixation were collected, and the surgery methods, including open reduction internal fixation and AO 2.4 mm LCP internal fixation, were applied according to fracture types.Postoperative imaging parameters, wrist joint activity and functional indexes were evaluated at 1,3,6 months and 1 year after surgery after postoperative follow-up,postoperative GartlandWerley wrist function scores was evaluated after one-year of surgery. Results A total of 22 patients were followed up,with an average of 12 months. There were no complications in blood vessel and nerve, there was no case with infectious in internal fix position except for only one compound internal fixation case with delayed healing. The patients were all healed and there was no obvious loss of fracture reduction, wrist dislocation,or internal fixation failure. One case with C3 type fracture 1 year after operation had obvious arthritis and poor joint function, the rest of the patients had no obvious pain, and the wrist range of motion and grip strength of the limbs reached more than 85% of the normal value, and the Gartland-Werley wrist function score was 81.8%.Conclusion AO 2.4mm LCP internal fixation based on fracture typing can effectively treat distal radius fractures.
