Abstract:
Objective To investigate characteristics of echocardiography in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus and related factors of left ventricular weight. Methods A total of 128 patients newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in our department and 170 healthy people were involved in our study from 2014 to 2016,and the patients newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes were divided into hypertension group and non-hypertension group according to whether they complicated with hypertension or not.The echocardiography indicators, age, and biochemical indicators such as glycosylated hemoglobin, blood lipid in simple diabetes group and the controls were compared. The differences in echocardiography indicators and related biochemical indicators were compared in hypertensive and non-hypertensive groups. The correlation between left ventricular myocardial weight and age, glycosylated hemoglobin, creatinine, uric acid,cholesterol,triglyceride,high-density lipoprotein, and low-density lipoprotein in patients in simple diabetes group were explored. Results There were significant differences in interventricular septum thickness, ejection fraction, left ventricular posterior wall diastolic thickness, left ventricular myocardial weight, left ventricular end diastolic diameter, left atrial diameter, age, glycosylated hemoglobin,triglyceride,high-density lipoprotein,low-density lipoprotein in simple diabetic patients and the healthy controls.Significant differences were observed in interventricular septal thickness, left atrial diameter, age, urine DCA in hypertensive and non-hypertensive groups. There was no significant correlation between weight of left ventricular and age, glycosylated hemoglobin, creatinine, uric acid,cholesterol,triglyceride,high-density lipoprotein, and low-density lipoprotein in simple diabetes group. Conclusion Newly diagnosed patients with type 2 diabetes have cardiac structural changes even in the very early time, and diabetes patients have disorder of glucose and lipid metabolism.
