Abstract:
ABSTRAT:OBJECTIVE To observe the clinical effect of Jianchang Yihao Formula in treating diarrhea predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-D) and explore its effect on the brain-gut axis.METHODS Totally 124 IBS-D patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 62 cases in each group.The patients of control group took pinaverium bromide,while those in the observation group received Jianchang Yihao Formula.The effect rate,digestive tract symptoms scores,serum brain gut peptide level,and adverse reactions were evaluated after four weeks.RESULTS The total effect rate was 94.0% in control group,while it was 71.0% in observation group(P <0.01).Compared with the control group,the ob-servation group was better in scoring for the digestive tract symptoms except for abdominal pain(P <0.05).The serum brain gut peptide levels of both group were equal before treatment(P >0.05),and obviously declined after treatment(P <0.05),but those of the observation group were more significantly decreased(P <0.05).The incidence rate of adverse reactions in the ob-servation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P <0.05).CONCLUSION Jianchang Yihao Formula prescribed from Tongxieyao Formula was better than pinaverium bromide in treating IBS-D.The mechanism of Jianchang Yi-hao Formula in treating IBS-D lies in changing brain-gut peptide levels like 5 HT3R via brain-gut axis.
