Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To study the chemical composition of essential oil extracted from Bupleuri Chinese by different methods.METHODS The essential oils were extracted by steam distillation,acid water vapor distillation,water distillation, acid water distillation and solvent extraction methods,and the chemical composition of the essential oils were analyzed by GC-MS.RESULTS The yields of essential oil extracted by solvent extraction method was highest,while the yields with acid water treatment was lowest;GC-MS analysis showed the main chemical composition were anethole and its isomer estragole.CON-CLUSION The chemical composition of the essential oil extracted by different methods is distinct,and further study on the antipyretic effect of the main composition anethole and its isomer estragole is needed.
