Abstract: Objective To investigate the mental health status of female workers. Methods The mental health status of 815 female workers from Hangzhou was investigated with symptom check list-90 (SCL-90).Results Only 5％ of factor scores were abnormal in female workers. In addition to the physical symptom factor scores, other 8 factor scores in female workers were lower than the national normal based on SCL-90 investigation (P＜0.01). All factor scores of female workers in electronic industry were higher than those in other industries (P＜0.01). Conclusion The mental health status of female workers is well except for female workers in electronic industry. It is suggested that effects of factors affecting psychological health on female workers are different in the various types of industry.
