Abstract:
We human beings have been fighting against AIDS for four decades. With the dramatic increasing number of people receiving antiretroviral treatment for AIDS, the number of new infections and deaths decreased significantly, but the phased goal of 2020 has not been achieved as scheduled. In the absence of effective vaccine and cure, the goal of ending the AIDS epidemic by 2030 faces new difficulties and challenges. China has been continuously strengthening the AIDS response and achieved remarkable result . During the 13th Five Year Plan period, new achievements have been made. Facing the situation of sexual transition dominant the epidemic with extensive and complex influencing factors, it is quite necessary to innovate strategies and measures, continue to increase prevention and intervention, expand testing and treatment, strengthen the commitment and responsibility of the four parties as local governments, departments, societies and individuals, perform high-quality services of AIDS prevention and treatments and improve effectiveness, to curb the rising trend of AIDS sexual transmission, and maintain the AIDS epidemic at low level in China.
