Abstract:
Influenza is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that can result in seasonal epidemics and global influenza pandemic, which poses a serious public health challenges world-wide. The pathogenicity of influenza virus depends to a great extent on viral virulence and its immune escape. This review provides an overview of the current understanding for the mechanisms by which influenza viruses to escape the host′s immune response, which will facilitate the future studies on influenza pathogenesis and the development of anti-influenza therapeutics.
