Abstract:
Rabies is a fatal zoonotic disease caused by rabies virus (RABV). The rabies vaccine, immunoglobulin, and Milwaukee therapy that have emerged have not reached the cure for rabies, and antiviral treatment against the virus itself has become a concern and focus. In this review article, according to the RABV replication infection process, the mechanism of action of antiviral drugs acting on various processes of the virus, relevant experimental procedures and result are briefly described, and the evaluation of the efficacy of new anti-RABV drugs and the direction of the combination therapy are proposed.
