Analysis of levels of IgG antibody against enterovirus 71 among healthy population in high epidemic areas of hand-food-mouth disease in Yunnan

Abstract: Objective To analyze the level of IgG antibody against enterovirus 71 among healthy people in high epidemic areas of HFMD in Yunnan province and provide basis for prevention and control of HFMD.Methods Two counties were chosen by random sampling from Yuxi city where the HFMD is high epidemic in Yunnan province,and healthy people were sampled by stratified and cluster sampling in these two counties and divided into 8 groups by age.The bloods samples of healthy people were collected,and the levels of serum EV71IgG antibody were detected by ELISA.Results The antibody positive rate was 41.3％ for 787 collected serums,the highest (64.0％) was in 5-years old group,the lowest (20.7％) was in 0-years old group.There were significant differences on the positive rate among different villages and towns,different age groups and different gender groups (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions People were commonly susceptible to EV71 infection,and there existed the recessive infection among healthy people,which related to the distribution of areas,age and gender.
