Abstract:
Objective To observe the influences of electroacupuncture on the content of hypothalamus enkephalin(ENK)and spinal orphanin FQ(OFQ)in rats with chronic inflammatory pain, and investigate the mechanism of electroacupuncture in single acupoint in the treatment of chronic inflammatory pain.Method All SD rats were randomly divided into the normal group, model group, acupuncture group, and electroacupuncture group. The content of hypothalamus ENK and spinal OFQ were detected by using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Result In the model group the content of hypothalamus ENK and spinal OFQ did not increase(P>0.05)compared with those in the normal group, and those increased respectively in the acupuncture group(P<0.01,P<0.05)and the electroacupuncture group (P<0.01,P<0.05)compared with those in the model group. Conclusion Acupuncture and electroacupuncture in single acupoint can relieve chronic inflammatory pain, and the mechanism may be related to the improvement of ENK and OFQ synthesis and release in central nervous system.
