Abstract:
Objective To measure the friction coefficient between swine mandibular mucosa and self-curing base resin, and to provide setting condition for finite element analysis. Methods Sliding friction is proportional to the positive pressure between the two objects contacting each other, that was f =μ × N.The experiment device was set to measure the sliding friction and the positive pressure between self-curing base resin and swine mandibular mucosa, and the friction coefficient between them was calculated. Results The friction coefficient between quickly self-curing base resin and swine mandibular mucosa was 0.33 ±0.04.Conclusions Based on that the friction coefficient between self-curing base resin and swine mandibular mucosa was measured, the denture base and mucosa could be set to be displaceable in finite element model,so that the results of finite element analysis might simulate clinical situation, and might be more instructive for further clinical studies.
