Abstract:
Objective To explore the anticancer effect of petroleum ether fraction of the extract from stems and leaves of Coix lacryma in vitro. Methods The in vitro growth inhibitory effects of different solutions of the extract of Coix stems and leaves on 3 kinds of tumor cell lines was detected by CCK-8 assay. Results Four kinds of Coix extract can inhibit the growth of the tested tumor cell lines in vitro. For the extracts of Coix stems, the half maximal inhibitory concentrations (ICs0) of petroleum ether fractions of the water extract on HeLa and ethanol extract on SGC-7901 were 51.78 and 74.44 μg · mL-1.And,for the extracts of Coix leaves, they were 45.22 and 45.91 μg · mL-1.Conclusion The petroleum ether fractions of the extract of Coix stems and leaves had better anti-tumor activity.
