Abstract:
As non-hematopoietic multipotent stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) with the potential of selfrenewal and multi-directional differentiation, play a key role in the process of tissue regenerations and anti-inflammation.In the case, the efficacy of these MSC-based therapies at least partly depends on specific homing towards the site where the cells are needed.Nowdays, many studies find that the different homing characteristics in different organizations, which limits the therapeutic efficacy when they are used in stem cell therapy. Thus, the homing phenomena, the therapeutical efficacy, the influencing factors and the cell tracing techniques of MSCs in bone marrow, spleen and lymph nodes, intestine, heart, cancer and multiple organ are reviewed in the article.
