Effect of hydroxyethyl starch 130/0.4 electrolyte injection on calcitonin original, C reactive protein and S100β levels in shock patients

Abstract:
Objective To observe the effects of hydroxyethyl starch 130/0.4 electrolyte injection and hydroxyethyl starch 130/0.4 sodium chloride solution on calcitonin original,C reactive protein (CRP) and S100β levels in shock patients.Methods A total of 74 shock patients were randomly divided into control group and treatment group,37 cases in each group.Patients in two groups were all given routine treatment and symptomatic treatment.Patients in control group were given hydroxyethyl starch 130/0.4 sodium chloride solution 10-20 mL for initial dose via intravenous drip,and then keeping the daily injection 500-1000 mL.Patients in treatment group were given hydroxyethyl starch 130/0.4 electrolyte injection,the usage and dosage as same as control group.All patients were treated for 7 d.The blood gas analysis and electrolyte indicators,serum calcitonin original,CRP,S100β protein levels and adverse drug reactions were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the serum calcitonin original in control and treatment group were (9.57 ± 1.36),(5.47 ±0.58) μg · L-1.CRP were (45.47±5.03) and (12.94±1.73) mg· L-1.S100β were (0.16±0.05),(0.05 ±0.01) μg· L-1,with significant difference (P < 0.05).After treatment,the systolic blood pressure in control and treatment groups were (86.22 ± 10.73),(103.53 ± 14.61) mmHg.Diastolic blood pressure were (61.44 ± 6.51),(66.94 ± 6.62) mmHg.Heart rate were (101.52 ± 9.73),(95.51 ±10.42) times · min-1 Mean arterial pressure were (70.91 ±9.94),(78.52 ±8.43) mmHg,shock index were 1.50 ±0.22,1.22 ±0.21.All the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05).The adverse drug reactions in treatment group were abnormal blood potassium,erythra,with the incidence of 5.41% (2/37 cases).The adverse drug reactions in control group were abnormal blood potassium,hyperchloremia,erythra,with the incidence of 10.81% (4/37 cases).There was no statistically differences between the two groups (P > 0.05).Conclusion Compared with hydroxyethyl starch 130/0.4 sodium chloride solution,hydroxyethyl starch 130/0.4 electrolyte injection can significantly reduce the serum levels of calcitonin original,CRP,S100β protein,and it could maintain the body's electrolyte and acid-base balance with higher safety.
