Abstract:
Objective To explore the efficiency and safety of cetuximab combined with radiotherapy on patients with advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Methods Forty patients with advanced nasopharyngeal car-cinoma were divided into control group and treatment group , each group 20 cases.Control group received regular radiotherapy and chemotherapy , the treatment group received cetuximab on the basis of control group.Af-ter the therapy , the efficiency and incidence of adverse drug reactions and keep record on the relapse free survival rate in the following 3 years.Results The response rate in treatment group was 55.0%, significantly higher than that in control group , which was 30.0%( P <0.05 ).The levels of CD4 +and CD8 +had no significant difference between the two groups ( P >0.05 ).The incidence of dermatitis , gastrointestinal reac-tions, hypersensitivity had no significant difference of the two groups ( P>0.05);and the incidence of oral mucositis in treatment group was higher than that of control group ( P<0.05 ).The survival rate in the sec-ond and third year in treatment group was significant higher than that in control group ( P<0.05 ) , but the one year survival rate had no signifi-cant difference ( P >0.05 ).Conclusion Cetuximab combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy was an efficient therapy.
