Abstract:
Objective To investigate the adverse drug reactions character-istics of cases with children′s newer antiepileptic drugs ( AEDs ) over-dose, and to promote medication safety. Methods The main clinical manifestation, laboratory indexes, therapeutic process and prognosis fol-lowing oxcarbazepine and lamotrigine overdose were reviewed in this study with two example cases and relative reports. Results and Conclusion The main clinical manifestation of patients following oxcar-bazepine and lamotrigine overdose respectively observed in this study was abdominal discomfort as vomiting and stomachache, however somnolence and respiratory depression were relatively slighter than traditional AEDs ( such as carbamazepine and phenobarbital ).After taking symptomatic treatment in time, both of the two poisoning cases had good prognosis.Clinician should be careful of the differential diagnosis and strengthen therapeutic drug monitoring.
