Abstract:
Tenofovir ( TFV) is a class of inhibiting HIV-1 reverse tran-scriptase , adenosine phosphate acyclic nucleoside analogs.Because of its high effectiveness, low toxicity and only be taken once per day, it is widely used nowadays. However, it was reported that the drug can cause kidney damage.Since there is a high individual difference of renal im-pairment, more and more researches focus on the association of renal in-jury which caused by TFV and genetic factors. The nephrotoxicity of tenofovir and the genetic factors which may increase renal tubular disease are reviewed in this paper.
