Abstract:
Objective To determine whether different dose rosuvastatin therapy for acute myocardial infarction ( AMI) with percutaneous coronary intervention ( PCI) could improve myocardial perfusion and cardiac func-tion.Methods One hundred and sixty consecutive patients with AMI who underwent successful PCI in the early phase after the onset of a first ST-elevated AMI were enrolled .They were randomly divided into rosu vastatin 20 mg ( treatment group , n =84 ) or 10 mg ( control group , n=76) treatment pre-and post -PCI respectively.Blood samplings to measure biomarkers:creatine kinase isoenzymes (CK-MB), troponin I ( cTn -I ) , brain natriuretic peptide ( BNP ) levels were repeated pre-and post-PCI.Myocardial microcirculation perfusion was evalua-ted according to PCI thrombolysis in myocardial infarction ( TIMI ) , and the cardiac function was measured by echocardiography on 7 days and 30 days after PCI.Results Although the biomarkers that reflect myocardial damage were all increased after PCI in both groups , but the change in the treatment group was significant lower than that in the control group .Similar results also occurred with respect to the BNP .The percentage of patients with TIMI 3 in the trial group was significantly higher, and the cardiac function of patients in the treatment group was improved obviously .Conclusion High-dose therapy with rosuvastatin for patients with AMI during PCI is benefit to alleviate the ischemic myocardial perfusion , and improve the cardiac function .
