Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect and mechanism of curcumin on neuronal protective function in acute spinal cord model ( ASCI) mice. Methods Divide healthy and clean class mice into sham -operated group, model group, control group ( methylprednisolone, 40 mg · kg-1 ) and treatment group ( curcumin 200 mg · kg-1 ).Each mice respectively received injection in intraperitoneal with drugs at 30 min before the sur-gery.Then, experimental animal models was established following im-proved Allen′s model. The behavior of the model mice was performed. The nuclear factor E2-related faetor 2 ( Nrf 2 ) antibody expression was examined with Western blot. And expression of tumor necrosis factor-α( TNF-α) and interleukin-6 ( IL-6 ) were examined with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results Compared to model group, beha-vior score, neurologic function, the expression of Nrf 2 and TNF -αin treatment group achieved significant improvement. The IL-6 expression in treatment group only revealed weaker in 8 h, but no notable difference compared to model group after 8 h.Conclusion The preliminary study shows that the way of curcumin preconditioning to improve neurologic function may by decreasing inflammatory factor and raising the expression of Nrf2.
