Abstract:
Objective To investgate the analgesic effects of intraarticular midazolam after knee arthroscopy. Methods Sixty patients undergoing knee arthroscopy were rnadomized to receive intraarticular midazolam 25,50,75μg·kg~(-1),or isotonic saline. The efficacy of the analgesic technique were assessed with visual analog scale pain scores.Patients were observed for 1,2,4,8,12 and 24 hours after operation, respectively. Results Intraartieular midazolam significantly reduced visual analog pain scores in the early postoperative period(4 hours)compared with saline[(2.0+0.3)vs(4.8+0.4),P<0.05],while did not increase adverse effects. Conclusion Intraarticular midazolam for postoperative analgesia might be an ideal choice after knee arthroscopy.
