- Abstract: Carbon monoxide poisoning causes hypoxic brain damage with various neurological complications. Cerebral hemorrhagic infarction has rarely been reported as a complication of carbon monoxide poisoning. The author experienced a patient who developed cerebral infarction in the striatocapsular area extending to the corona radiata after carbon monoxide poisoning, which was followed by hemorrhagic transformation associated with neurological deterioration.
