- Abstract: Acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF)is a syndrome characterized by the rapid progression of organ failure and has a high short-term mortality rate.Kidney is one of the most frequently affected extrahepatic organs in ACLF patients.Recently Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver(APASL)published APASL clinical practice guidelines on the management of acute kidney injury in acute-on-chronic liver failure,which proposed related consensus statements and recommendations for the early diagnosis,pathophysiology,prevention,and management of acute kidney injury in patients with ACLF,and it also highlighted the need for more high-quality studies in the future.
