- Abstract: To evaluate the value of total neuroimaging burden score and serum uric acid combined detection for cognition in patients with cerebral small vessel disease(CSVD). MethodsAccording to MoCA and MMSE performance,199 patients with CSVD were divided into 3 groups:normal group(n=87),mild cognitive impairment group(n=63)and vascular dementia group(n=49). Total neuroimaging burden score and serum levels of uric acid were measured. Correlations between total neuroimaging burden score, serum uric acid and MoCA and MMSE score were analyzed by Spearman correlation analysis. Risk factors for cognitive impairment were analyzed by Logistic regression analysis. The cognition evaluation value of combination of total neuroimaging burden score and serum uric acid values were evaluated by the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve area under curve(AUC). ResultsThere were significant differences in the total neuroimaging burden score(P<0.001)and concentrations of serum uric acid(P=0.001)among the 3 groups. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that total neuroimaging burden score and serum uric acid were independent risk factors for cognition impairment in patients with CSVD(P<0.05). The AUC values of total neuroimaging burden score and serum uric acid in cognition evaluation were 0.757(95%CI 0.692~0.823,P<0.001)and 0.618(95%CI 0.540~0.696,P=0.004). When combined, the AUC was 0.784(95%CI 0.722~0.846). ConclusionCombination of total neuroimaging burden score and serum uric acid can effectively assess cognition impairment in patients with CSVD.
