Effects of early sucking on the secretion time and the amount of lactation after cesarean section

Abstract:
Objective To study the effect of early sucking on the secretion time and the amount of lactation after ce-sarean section. Methods From January 2013 to January 2014 in our hospital, 100 cases cesarean section parturients of singleton full-term newborns, according to the random number were divided into observation group (early sucking) and control group (not early sucking), each with 50 cases, the initial time of lactation, within 24 hours of feeding times, postpartum 1-5 d lactation, and the women in two groups before operation, postoperative 24 h, 48 h of PRL levels changes were observed and compared. Results In the observation group of women in the initial time of lactation was faster than that of the control group, 24 hours feeding times was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). The amount of 1-5 d in the observation group was 68.0%, which was significantly higher than 40.0%of the con-trol group(P<0.05). And the maternal lack of milk rate of observation group was only 6.0%, was significantly lower than the control group of 26.0%(P<0.05). The levels of PRL in the observation group after 24 h, 48 h were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion After the early sucking of newborn infants, it is beneficial to pro-mote the secretion of the first time and increase the success rate of breast feeding.
