Abstract:
Respiratory failure is a frequent and serious short-term complication of Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) and mechanical ventilation is required in approximately 20% to 30% of cases.Early identification of clinical and laboratory test features associated with respiratory failure is very important to prevent frightening results of sudden respiratory failure. This article reviews recent research advances in the early predictors of respiratory failure in GBS.
