Abstract:
The unpredictability of seizures can significantly impact the safety, employability, and quality of life for individuals with epilepsy. A reliable seizure prediction system could provide patients with a warning at least a few minutes before a seizure occurs, allowing them to take appropriate action. Recent advances in the use of electroencephalogram, electrocardiogram, periodic rhythm analysis, imaging and wearable devices have provided new insights into the precise prediction of seizures based on multiple indicators. The latest research progress in seizure prediction and future directions for developing epilepsy prediction from research challenges to clinical reality were reviewed in this paper.
