- Abstract: Schisaridrae chinensis is the dried ripe fruit of Schisan- drae chinensis in the magnolia family.In recent years studies have shown that Schisandra chinensis has significant effects on the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, depressive disorder, anxiety disorder and other neurological and mental diseases.Schisandra chinensis has shown to inhibit the activation of microglia and astrocytes, regulate the level of central neurotransmitters and protect neurons.In this paper, the effects of Schisandrae chinensis on various neurological and mental diseases and the underlying mechanisms are reviewed in order to provide reference for the clinical application of Schisandrae chinensis.
