ObjectiveTo investigate the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and the level of serum homocysteine (Hcy) in association with the incidence of stroke in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients. MethodsBased on the chronic disease risk factor surveillance cohort in Pudong New Area, Shanghai, excluding those with stroke in baseline survey, T2DM patients who joined the cohort from January 2016 to October 2020 were selected as the research subjects. During the follow-up period, a total of 318 new-onset ischemic stroke patients were selected as the case group, and a total of 318 individuals matched by gender without stroke were selected as the control group. The Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to adjust for confounding factors and explore the serum TyG index and the Hcy biochemical indicator in association with the risk of stroke. ResultsThe Cox proportional hazards regression results showed that after adjusting for confounding factors, the risk of stroke in T2DM patients with 10 μmol·L⁻¹

Objective: To compare the biological characteristics of human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived platelet exosomes (hiPSC-Plt-Exos) with those of conventional apheresis platelet exosomes (Plt-Exos), specifically focusing on their differential abilities to enhance the proliferation and migration of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSCs). Methods: Exosomes were isolated from hiPSC-derived Plt and apheresis Plt concentrate using size exclusion chromatography. These exosomes were then characterized through nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and Western blotting. Co-culture experiments into hUC-MSCs were conducted with hiPSC-Plt-Exos and apheresis Plt-Exos, respectively. Their effects on the proliferation and migration of hUC-MSCs were assessed via cell proliferation assays and scratch tests. Results: hiPSC-Plt-Exos and apheresis Plt-Exos exhibited comparable particle sizes, morphological features (such as the characteristic cup-shaped structure), and surface markers (including CD9 and HSP70). Notably, hiPSC-Plt-Exos demonstrated a significantly greater ability to enhance the proliferation and migration of hUC-MSCs compared to apheresis Plt-Exos (P<0.05). These differences provide critical comparative data for their application in various clinical contexts. Conclusion: This study establishes a theoretical foundation for developing precise therapeutic strategies based on hiPSC-Plt-Exos. Furthermore, it underscores the necessity of selecting the appropriate type of exosomes according to the specific disease microenvironment to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes.

Objective To develop a health belief model(HBM)based adolescent alcohol-related cognition scale to measure adolescent alcohol-related cognition and test its reliability and validity. Methods The adolescents'alcohol-related cognitive scale was developed based on HBM model.By using purposive sampling, three general high schools in Qingpu District,Shanghai were selected.One-third of the classes from grades 10 and 11 in each school were randomly selected, and the students from these classes were surveyed as the research subjects.Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used to analyze its reliability(internal consistency reliability and combination reliability)and validity(structural validity, convergent validity, discriminative validity and criterion validity). Results A total of 970 questionnaires were collected,of which 948 were valid, with an effective rate of 97.7%.The adolescents'alcohol-related cognitive scale contained 22 items.Five common factors were extracted from exploratory factor analysis, including perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived obstacles, and self-efficacy.The cumulative variance contribution rate reached 83.89%.The results of confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the overall fit of the model. The average variance extracted value(AVE)of each dimension was greater than 0.5,and the convergent validity of the model was ideal. The AVE square root of each dimension of the scale was greater than its correlation coefficient, indicating good discrimination validity.Cronbach's α coefficient of the total volume table was 0.892,indicating good overall reliability. Conclusion The adolescents'alcohol-related cognitive scale developed in this study has good reliability and validity, which can be used to measure adolescents'alcohol-related perceptions.

Objective To elucidate the influence of two procedures aortic root remodeling using a straight tubular artificial vessel while preserving the aortic valve and the Florida sleeve procedure on the biomechanics of the aortic root. Methods Five finite element models of the aortic root were reconstructed using computed tomography angiography images, including two cases of aortic root remodeling(A1 and A2),two cases of the Florida sleeve procedure(B1 and B2),and one control group without aortic root pathology(C).Numerical simulations were performed to obtain the blood flow and pressure distribution result to assess the differences in the hemodynamics of the aortic root. Results There were no significant differences in the peak systolic velocity between the two procedures and the control. However, the flow velocity after aortic root remodeling was smoother, similar to the model of the control group, with a more stable average aortic pressure and wall shear stress. In the Florida sleeve procedure,high-speed blood flow affected the vessel wall, leading to various degrees of wall shear stress and pressure concentrations along the aortic wall. Conclusions After aortic root replacement with valve preservation, blood flow patterns in the reconstructed aortic root depended on postoperative changes in sinus geometry. Both surgical procedures showed favorable blood flow patterns;however, the flow pattern after aortic root remodeling was more stable than that after the Florida sleeve procedure.

Objective To investigate the risk factors for bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD)in twin preterm infants with a gestational age of<34 weeks, and to provide a basis for early identification of BPD in twin preterm infants in clinical practice. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed for the twin preterm infants with a gestational age of<34 weeks who were admitted to 22 hospitals nationwide from January 2018 to December 2020.According to their conditions, they were divided into group A(both twins had BPD),group B(only one twin had BPD),and group C(neither twin had BPD).The risk factors for BPD in twin preterm infants were analyzed.Further analysis was conducted on group B to investigate the postnatal risk factors for BPD within twins. Results A total of 904 pairs of twins with a gestational age of<34 weeks were included in this study. The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that compared with group C,birth weight discordance of>25%between the twins was an independent risk factor for BPD in one of the twins(OR=3.370,95%CI:1.500-7.568,P<0.05),and high gestational age at birth was a protective factor against BPD(P<0.05).The conditional logistic regression analysis of group B showed that small-for-gestational-age(SGA)birth was an independent risk factor for BPD in individual twins(OR=5.017,95%CI:1.040-24.190,P<0.05).Conclusions The development of BPD in twin preterm infants is associated with gestational age, birth weight discordance between the twins, and SGA birth.

Protein-based plant immune inducers are special compounds that can induce plant defense re-sponses.They are mainly derived from pathogenic microorganisms, biocontrol microorganisms, host plants, and host-pathogen interaction processes.Protein elicitors improve plant resistance by triggering plant pathogen-associated molecular patterns to trigger immunity and effectors to trigger immune responses that frequently involve reactive oxygen species,Ca2+,salicylic acid, jasmonic acid, gibberellin, and eth-ylene cascade signaling pathways. They can bolster plant resistance against bacterial, fungal, and viral diseases,as well as environmental stress. Here we summarize the sources, mechanisms of action, and current applications of protein-based elicitors, identify existing problems, and outline future development trends. We propose that future research should focus on improving the persistence and stability of these elicitors, exploring the combined use of multiple elicitors or their combination with other agents, and their application in plant breeding.,aiming for developing green biopesticides using protein-based elicitors.
