2.Some clinical and cytologic features of erythrocyte in peripheral blood and marrow of patients with myelodysplastic syndrome type persistent anemia
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;267(12):42-46
A total of 30 myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) patients was analyzed to determine the clinical aspects and erythroid morphology in peripheral blood and bone marrow. The results are summarized as follows: 63.3% of patients was (50 years old. Male/Female ratio: 0.8. 46.7% were with lonely anemia and the rest were anemia combined with hemorrhages, infections, hepatosplenomegaly and lymphadenopathy. In peripheral blood: 63.4% of patients was with Hb<60g/l. 50% had normocrom - normocytic erythrocyte 96.7% of patients had dysmorphologic erythrocyte. In bone marrow: 46.6% were with hyperplasia of erythroid lineage, 33.6% were with hypoplasia of erythroid lineage, the rest (20%) were with normoplasia of erythroid lineage, 63.4% had dysmorphologic erythroblast, in which 36.7% was with ringed syderoblast

3.Some opinions of the myelogram in 2,445 cases implemented in the Ho Chi Minh center for Hematology and Blood Transfusion
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;232(1):25-29
Compiling 2,445 bone marrow aspiration cytology done at hematology department of HCM city and Blood Transfuson Centre (between Mar 1996-Aug 1998) we found the following results. -Acute leukemia: 737 cases (30.1%) -Myelohyperplasia syndrome: 132 cases (5.4%). - Aplastic anemia: 98 cases (4%). - Myelodysplasia: 49 cases (22%). -Lympho profilerative disease: 41 cases (1.7%). - Megaloblastic anemia: 14 cases (0,6%).- Cancer metastasis 26 cases (1.1%). - Extramedullary disorders: 1,100 cases (45%) - Normal Bone marrow cytology 213 cases (8.7%). Needle bone marrow aspiration technic, simple, nearly without complication, now still has remained the major diagnostic test for hematology disorders.

4.Scintigraphic application for myocardial blood irrigation in Cho Ray hospital
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;263(9):64-70
During 5/2000 - 5/2001, the nuclear medicine depar. of Cho Ray hospital implemented the scintigraphic application of myocardial blood irrigation for 144 cases (93 with 99 mTc-MIBI, 33 with 201 TI and 14 with 99m Tc MIBI combined with 201 TI). The results from angiography have shown that the sensitivity and specificity of scintigraphy in the diagnosis of the coronary arterial pathology was 92% and 71.4%, respectively. The scintigraphy for myocardial blood irrigation was a sensitive, noninvasive and valuable method of diagnosis of the coronary arterial pathology

5.Some opinions of symptoms of chest pain in the myocardial infarction
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;232(1):16-19
101 men were diagnosed acute myocardial infarction. Of these patients 4.9% hadn't a chest pain, 20% had a severe angina, 40.6% a mild angina. The time delay of the patients with severe angina was the shortest (4.55h) while that of the patients with mild angina was the longest (75.61h)

6.Clinical characteristics and high risk factors in deaths due to the myocardial infarction
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;232(1):3-9
Study on 275 patients, of whom 265 were males, and 10 females, 46-86 years old, diagnosed myocardial infarction (MI), and have been treated at Huu Nghi Hospital since January 1990 to December 1997. Some remarks were noted: 37.8% of patients were admitted to hospital (within 6 hours), and 62.5% had complications (14 kinds of complications). Recovery averaged 32-48 days of treatment with classical management. Mortality reached 33%. High risk factors causing death included: multiple complications, cardiac rupture, cardiogenic shock, heart failure, ventricular fibrillation, loss of blood pressure (BP) or sudden reduction of BP, antero - posterio MI, recurrence of MI and the elderly. The authors recommend using thrombolytics if there are no contraindications

7.The mortality of patients after myocardial infarction (MI)
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;232(1):10-15
Some remarks on acute MI mortality. The postmortality examination of 79 cases diet of MI at Huu Nghi Hospital has allowed the authors to find: a/ the high risk factors of death were: over 60 years of old, large anterior MI (43.83%), left ventricular anterio-posterior MI (21.93%), stenosid of left coronary artery (30.4%), reinfarction (35.45%). b/ the main harmful complications is cardiogenic shock (30.38%), heart failure (26.585%), ventricular arrhythmia (11.39%), lung infective diseases (5.06%), cerebro-vascular diseases (8.86%), cardiac rupture (13.92%). c/ the various measure to decrease the mortality of MI

8.A cases of accident due to overdose of an antiarrhythmic 'propafenone
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1998;231(12):24-27
Propafenone (Rythmonorm) was administered intravenously at a dose of 5mg/kg/3h to treat an atrial fibrillation case. Synal rhythm was restored in 2.30 hours with a QRS complex enlargement. 3 hours later on, a blood pressure drop as well as a cerebral and myocardial ischemia lasting 2 days were noted and were managed effectively with isoproterenol and dopamine. These drugs administered orally in divided doses up to 450 mg/day can put an end to the atrial fibrillation paroxysm while the maintenance dose of 450mg/day in fractional doses can prevent atrial fibrillation recurrence

9.Morphological and histological features of prostatic gland in 540 cases of prostatic removal operations
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;267(12):36-40
These patients were admitted to hospital due to diuretic difficulty, increasing frequency of micturition (89.63%) and retention of urine (10.37%). Histopathological examination: Most of lesion are benign prostatic hyperplasia (98%, 15%). Carcinoma was detected only in 10 cases (1.85%).

10.Situation of urinary tract infection and antibiogram in patients with prostatic fibroma in the Central Military Hospital
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;263(9):138-142
The authors investigated the microbial pathogens responsible for acute urinary tract infection and the antimicrobial susceptibility from 216 patients over 60 years old with benign prostatic hyperplasia from 1/1999 to 6/2000 we have found: Staphylococcus spp (40.6%), E. coli (29%), Pseudomonas spp (19.7%), Enterococcus spp (7.5%), Proteus spp (1.7%), Klebsiella spp (1.1%). Many bacteria were sensitive to imipenem. Often used antimicrobials were gentamycine, kanamycine, ciprofloxacine. Most bacteria were resistant to usual antimicrobial drugs. Most of the patients were from 70 to 80 years old (51.2%). The patients over 80 were at high risk of infection (90%).
