Objective:To study potential function of relieving-pain,calming and stopping bleeding function of astragali. Methods:To observe the effect of the water decoction of high, middle and low doses astragali on physical pain(hot plate method) and chemical-induced pain(writhing method)in mice reaction;the effect on the sleep durance of mouse which was applied under valve dosage of sodium pentobarbital and impact of blood coagulation in rats.It was compared with the blank control group,as well as the positive control group. Results:Astragali decoction can increase the pain threshold in mice, reduce the number of writhing in mice, enhance the volume of the role of sleep in mice on the threshold of sodium pentobarbital hypnosis, and extend the role of sodium pentobarbital hypnosis time.At the same time can shorten the prothrombin time and partial thromboplastin time, and increase fibrinogen. Conclusion:Astragali had definite relieving-pain,calming and stopping bleeding function. This result was consistent with the analysis conclusions through ancient prescriptions database with astragali.

Objective:The fingerprint chromatograms were established for quality evaluation of Sedum aizoon L.collected from different habitats by HPLC.Methods:The analysis was performed on a Diamonsil C18 column(4.6mm? 250mm,5?m)with acetonitrile-water(acidified to 0.5%with phosphoric acid)as mobile phase in a gradient mode at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min,and at a column temperature of 25℃.The detection of wavelength was at 254 nm.Results:2lpeaks were selected as the common fingerprint peaks. The relative standard deviations for relative retention values and relative peak areas were less than 3%in the precision and repeated test. The similarity of l0 batches of samples were no less than 0.9.Conclusion:The method was reliable and can be helpful on the quality control of Sedum aizoon L.

Objective:To explore the effects of Shenqi Compound Recipe on the expression of Cycloxygenase-2 (COX-2)mRNA in aorta in GK rats. There were five groups:GK group, model group, atorvastatin group,Shenqi Compound Recipe group and normal control group.During the experiment periods, each group was administrated correspondent substance respectively for 35 days.Serum concentrations of C reactive protein(CRP)were determined by ELISA.The mRNA expressions of COX-2 in aorta were detemined by reverse transcriptase PCR(RT-PCR).Results:Compared with model group, concentrations of CRP in serum and the mRNA expression of COX-2 all decreased in atorvastatin group and Shenqi Compound Recipe group(P

The‘eighteen clashes’and‘nineteen fears’have been tought of traditional prohibited combination in long time, but many examples show ginseng and trogopterus dung could be safely used after compatibility,so many scholars fouce on the essential of compatibility. While people can not reach an accordant consideration for compatibility of Ginseng with Trogopterus Dung, therefore we have a overview based on documents for about 30 years, which will provide evidences for researching systematically on the nature of compatibility of Ginseng with Trogopterus Dung.

To elucidate the processing mechanism of Herba Epimedii from the new view of the intestinal absorption and metabolism. From analyzing the literatures of processing mechanism and togethering with the research of our lab,a new idea of processing mechanism of Herba Epimedii was brought:the pharmacologically active and easier absorbed flavonoids might be present more in the herbs when changing the heating processing parameters and thereby increased or maintained the efficacy. This thesis first pointed the new idea and method that the intestinal absorption and metabolism of herbs should be considered when studying the mechanism of processing.

Objective:To investigate the effect of catgut implantation at acupoint,Compound Erxian Decoction on levels of serum cytokine in ovariectomized rats. Methods:Sixty 3-month-old female Sprague-drawley rats, weighed 230?20g each, were divided into six groups, ten rats in each group. The first group were sham-operated(Sham-G),while the remaining groups, established by excising both sides ovary, were catgut-acupuncture group(CAG),Chinese herb group(CHG),catgut-acupuncture plus Chinese herb group(CCG),estrogen group(EG)and model group(MG).There wasn’t any therapy in sham-operated group and model group. After 12 weeks corresponding therapy, all groups were sacrificed to procure blood serum for testing the contents of E 2 ,GM-CSF,IGF-1,TNF-?by means of radioimmunoassay and both retral thighbone for testing bone mineral density(BMD) and bone mineral content(BMC)in each specimen. Results:The BMD and BMC of thighbone,E 2 and IGF-1 of serum and in CAG,CHG,CCG and EG was compared with Sham-G,there was no significant difference, but which was higher than MG(P

Objective:To evaluate the anti-metastatic and bone preserving therapeutic effects of herbal medicine extraction on rat model of bone metastatic carcinoma. Methods:A rat model of cancer-induced bone pain using the MRMT-1 cell line injected into the tibia was established to investigate the efficacy of the herbal medicine extraction,on osteoclast activity and bone mineral density. The development of the bone tumor and structural damage to the bone was monitored by radiological analysis.Specimens of the tibial bone were processed for tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase(TRAP)stain to observe the bone pathological changes and count TRAP stained osteoclasts.OPG and RANKL expression was evaluated by immunohistological methord. Results:Histological and radiological examination showed that the herbal medicine extraction significantly inhibited tumor proliferation and preserved the cortical and trabecular bone structure. In addition,a dramatic reduction of tartrate resistant acid phosphatase-positive polykaryocytes(osteoclasts)and increase of OPG expression were observed. Conclusions:The herbal medicine extraction was an anti-metastatic and bone preserving therapeutic effects in a rat model of metastatic cancer pain.
