Objective: To investigate the quality of life (QOL) and its influence factors in the scattered elderly in Shanghai, and to evaluate the effect of nutrition status on the QOL. Methods: Ninty-five randomly-selected elderly were investigated with QOL questionnaire, food frequency questionnaire and 24 h dietary recalls, their nutrition status were awarded by nutrient intake and medical examinations. Results: The percentage of poor, moderate and good QOL were 1.05%, 61.05% and 37.89%. The significant influence factors of QOL were health status, nutrition status, livelihood satisfaction, mentality health, family harmony, medical examination and income. The main nutrition intake of the 95 cases were sufficient, such as energy, protein, but the intake of diet fat and salt were overtaken. The rate of overweight and obesity were 26.3% and 40.0%. Conclusion: Nutrition status is the main influence factor of QOL in the elderly. To improve the QOL of the elderly, health education and balance nutrition guidance should be strengthened.

Objectives:To observe the relationship between 2 different ways of nasal tube nutrition supplement patterns and clinical patients'endurance and complication. Methods:Self contrast study was used in 8 cases of old patients supplied with nasal tube nutrition for 4 months(perfusion and dripping pattern 2 months each). Biochemical indices and enteric complications before and after nasal tube nutrition were observed. Results:Slowly dripping supplement pattern greatly decreased the incidence of inhalation pneumonia and other complications related with gastro enteric nutrition supplement,such as diarrhea,bloating,vomits and etc.The nutritional status was obviously improved when the continuous dripping supplement pattern was used. Conclusions:Continuous dripping supplement pattern is better than perfusion supplement pattern.

Objective: To measure the glycemic index of foods contained low carbohydratesand discuss the relationship between glycemic index and the amount of fat, carbohydrate, protein and diet fiber from these foods. Methods: According to the method of Wolver,the GIs of these kinds of foods had been determined and caculated by using 25 gram carbohydrates as control because of the low percent(10%)of carbohydrates in foods. Results: The results of GI in 13 kinds of the foods were worked out and there was negative correlation between diet fiber and GI. Conclusions: The inference factors of GI are not the kinds of carbohydrate but the amount of diet fiber in these foods.

ObjectiveTo study the effects and feasibility of Smart Equitest Balance Master training for severe balance disorder caused by cerebellar hemorrhage in children. MethodsA 10-year-old boy with severe ataxia caused by cerebellar hemorrhage were trained with Smart Equitest Balance Master. He was assessed with Smart Equitest Balance Master, Modified Barthel Index and Berg Balance Scale. ResultsAfter 22 weeks of balance training, he improved in equilibrium, gait, posture control, activity of daily living, dysarthria, and return to school to continue his study. ConclusionSmart Equitest Balance Master training can significantly improve balance function，motor function and activities of daily living after cerebellar hemorrhage.

Objective To study the association between house dust endotoxin levels and the airway responsiveness as well as allergen sensitization in adolescence in the urban and rural areas of Guangdong province.Methods Middle school students,aged 13-14,188 (male 109,female 79) from Guangzhou,129(male 70,female 59) from Conghua with positive responses,and 231 (male 125,female 106) and 307(male 145,female 162) of their respective reference students are selected from questionnaire prescreening.A detailed questionnaire,the lung function test,histamine bronchial provocation test,skin prick test and peripheral blood eosinophil count are undertaken.Seventy-six students from Guangzhou and 80 from Conghua were selected randomly for mattress dust sample collection to detect the levels of endotoxin.Results The prevalence of wheeze symptom,diagnosed asthma,nasal symptoms and allergic rhinitis of Guangzhou was significantly higher than that of Conghua (P＜0.0001),with 28.6％,27.7％,66.0％,46.4％ for Guangzhou respectively,and 5.0％,2.5％,31.0％,6.2％ for Conghua respectively.The positive rates of bronchial provocation test and skin sensitization against Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus(Der.p),D.farinae (Der.f),cat and dog allergen in the students of Guangzhou were significantly higher than that of Conghua (P＜0.0001).The positive rate of cockroach of Conghua was significantly higher than that of Guangzhou (P＜0.0001).The levels of endotoxin (amount,concentration and load) of samples from Conghua were significantly higher than that from Guangzhou (Conghua:6452 EU,10.95 EU/mg,1794 EU/m2 ;Guangzhou:1591 EU,6.45 EU/mg,508.80 EU/m2,respectively).PD20-FEV1 was correlated positively with endotoxin amount(r=0.174,P＜0.05).The diameters of the skin wheal size for Der.p and Der.f were correlated inversely with endotoxin amount and load (P＜0.001).Conclusion The prevalence of wheeze symptom,diagnosed asthma,nasal symptoms and allergic rhinitis in 13-14 year-old adolescent of Guangzhou was significantly higher than that of Conghua.Cockroach was the second major allergen of Conghua followed by house dust mite.The level of endotoxin was correlated positively with PD20-FEV1,but correlated inversely with skin sensitization to Def.p and Der.f.The study suggests that environmental endotoxin may have effect to protect children from developing allergic diseases.

Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of serum level of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF),angiopoietin (Ang)-1 and Ang-2 in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Methods Serum levels of VEGF,Ang-1 and Ang-2 were measured with enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Twenty-one healthy subjects,24 osteoarthritis patients and 82 rheumatoid arthritis patients were included.We defined active and inactive group according to RA disease active score,while early active RA and late active RA group were defined on the basis of disease course.There were 28 early active patients,32 late active patients and 22 inactive patients with rheumatoid arthritis.At the same time 29 RA patients were examined with ultrasound.Synovial hypertrophy (US joint count SH,US index SH),synovial fluid(US joint count SF,US index SF),resistance index and power Doppler signal (US joint PD,TSS) were scored.The correlation was analyzed.We also detected the serum levels of VEGF,Ang-1,Ang-2,ESR,CRP and DAS28 in 25patients with active RA after 3 month regular treatment.We used one-way ANOVA to compare the differences between groups,and Wilcoxon test to compare the differences between before and after treatment.We analyzed the correlation with linear correlation or Spearman rank test.Results The serum level of VEGF [(1285 ±272) pg/ml],Ang-1 [(0.55±0.25)ng/ml] in patients with rheumatoid arthritis were higher than osteoarthritis patients [(934±80) pg/ml,(0.32±0.16) ng/ml] and normal controls [(565±115) pg/ml,(0.24±0.21) ng/ml],and the serum level of Ang-2 [(1.36±0.40) ng/ml] was higher than normal controls [(0.52±0.32) ng/ml].The serum level of VEGF [(1355±194) pg/ml] in early active patients was higher than late active patients [(1096±477) pg/ml] and inactive patients [(862±91) pg/ml].The serum level of Ang-1 in early active patients,late active patients and inactive patients with rheumatoid arthritis had no statistically significant differences.The serum level of Ang-2 in inactive patients [(2.0±2.0) ng/ml] was significantly higher than late active patients [0.9±0.8) ng/ml].The serum level of VEGF was positively correlated with US joint SH,US index SH,US joint PD,and TSS.The serum level of Ang-1 was positively correlated with US joint SH,US joint PD,and TSS.The serum level of VEGF and Ang-1 were negatively correlated with RI.The serum level of Ang-2 was not correlated with US joint SH,US index SH,US joint SF,US index SF,US joint PD,TSS and RI.In the active RA patients,the serum level of VEGF,Ang-1 and Ang-2 was positively correlated with each other.In the inactive RA patients,the serum level of VEGF,Ang-1 and Ang-2 was not correlated with each other.The serum level of VEGF and Ang-1 before treatment was slightly higher than that of after treatment,but the difference was not statistically significant.The serum level of Ang-2 after treatment was significantly higher than that before treatment.ESR,CRP and DAS28 of after treatment were lower than those before treatment.Conclusion The serum VEGF and Ang-1 level could be used as useful index to reflect RA synovial thickening and angiogenesis The serum level of Ang-2 could be used as one of the efficacy indices.They may influence each other,and they may be the key factors that mediate the onset and development of RA angiogenesis and synovial inflammation.

Objective:To study the intestinal mucosal state of ulcerative colitis (UC) through UC endoscopic scores and to investigate the correlation between the endoscopic scores and clinical activity and histological scores.Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed on data of 152 patients who underwent colonoscopy or sigmoidoscopy in Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital from January 2014 to September 2019. The results were graded with 7 endoscopic scores, namely, Mayo endoscopic score(MES), modified Baron score(MBS), endoscopic activity index(EAI) , Sutherland index(DAI or UCDAI) , Rachmilewitz endoscopic index(REI), Lemann endoscopic index (LEI), and ulcerative colitis endoscopic index of severity(UCEIS). Spearman correlation coefficients between endoscopic score and partial Mayo scores, Truelove-Witts disease severity score and Nancy index (NI), Robarts index (RHI) and Geboes score (GS) were calculated respectively. Consistency of each endoscopic score among different observers was analyzed.Results:Except for the weak correlation between DAI and Truelove - Witts classification ( r= 0.469, P < 0.001), all other endoscopic scores were moderately positively correlated with clinical activity scores with significance( all P<0.001). However, the correlation between 7 endoscopic scores and histological scores was weak ( P<0.001). Except that the consistency of MBS among observers was medium, those of MES, DAI and LEI among observers were poor, and those of UCEIS, EAI and REI among observers were worse ( P<0.001). Conclusion:Endoscopic scores were moderately correlated with clinical activity indexes and weakly correlated with histological scores. However, patients with endoscopic remission may have histologic inflammatory activity, so attention should be paid to histological mucosal healing after endoscopic remission. The consistency of all 7 endoscopic scoring stystems among observers was low, and the repeatability was poor.

Objective To investigate feasibility of CM-Dil labeling mesenchymal stem cells in vitro.Methods We separate,culture and identify rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells,after labeling MSCs with CM-Dil concentration respectively in 1,2,4μg/mL,observe label rate of MSCs after 15 min,24 h,48 h,72 h,5 passage and 8 passage,then detect cell cycle with FCM and cell proliferation capability with CCK8.Results MSC cultured with the whole bone marrow adherent method were strongly positive for CD44,CD29 and negative for CD34,CD45.The label rates of MSC 15 min after labeled with CM-Dil 1,2,4 μg/mL were respectively (31.60±1.25)％,(88.73±1.79)％,(96.89±1.31)％,and there has statistically difference (F=1 757.21,P=0.000);the growth curve of the 4 groups was similar,and the percentages of G1 phase,S phase and G2/M phase between the 4 groups have no statistically difference (P＞0.05).Conclusion CM-Dil in concentration 4 μg/mL has high label rate and low cytotoxicity,therefore could be a efficient and stable method of labeling MSCs.
