Abstract:
Objective To study of insulin sensitivity and (3 cell's function in obesity and non-obesity type 2 diabetes for further exploring the effect of obesity on the degree of insulin resistance and islet ? cell's function in type 2 diabetes. Methods Insulin sensitivity index (S1), acute insulin response to glucose (AIRg) and disposition index (DI = S1XAIRg) were assessed by the reduced sample number of Bergman's minimal model method with frequently sampling bloodin intravenous glucose tolerance test in subjects of normal controls, obesity type 2 diabetes and non-obesity type 2 diabetes. Meanwhile the clinical parameters such as body mass index and waist to hip ratio were also evaluated. Results Compared with normal controls, the value of S1, AIRg and DI were significantly decreased in type 2 diabetes (P
