Abstract:
Objective To observe the effect of electronic acupuncture on serum leptin and insulin of rats with simple obesity. Methods SD rats were randomly divided into normal group, model group, electronic acupuncture group and western medicine group. The normal group were fed with normal feedstuff, while the other rats were all fed with a fat-rich diet. Four weeks after modeling, bilateral Neiguan and Zusanli acupoints were punctured with electronic acupuncture. Serum leptin content was detected with ELISA, insulin with radio-immunity. Results With acupuncture, the weight was lost, at the same time, the levels of the serum leptin and insulin of obesity rats decreased significantly in the electronic acupuncture group compared with the model group (P 0.05).
